Birthday Bonaza

Birthday Bonanza consists of 4 consecutive weeks of Birthday Celebrations in our house. It begins with Patricks birthday (March 13th), my birthday, Eric's birthday and ending with Wyatt's birthday (April 12th). Which this year happened to land on Easter. Not to mention we have our Wedding Anniversary thrown in the mix along with my sister's birthday and niece, Hope's, birthday. Everyday it seemed like we had a birthday party to go to or I needed to run to the store for another gift!

I know I go completely nuts during the Christmas season, but I'm even crazier during birthday bonanza. I know, hard to imagine right? I started a tradition in my house for birthdays (Eric refers to it as the Pain in his Rear). My tradition is that after the kids go to sleep I blow up an insane amount of balloons and I decorate their room, put them all over their bed and I decorate the kitchen with a banner and balloons are tied to every chair. My feeling is that: it's your special day and I want to make sure we celebrate the fact that you were born and in my life. I almost was going to go as far as making a "Birthday Crown" but then I had to remind myself that I have 3 boys not girls...most likely they won't wear it and use it for target practice.

It first started out with a drop cloth being hung over Patrick's bed filled with balloons. I would wake him up singing Happy Birthday, pull the string and balloons would fall from the ceiling. He loved it! What kid doesn't love balloons? That was when I decided to continue and make it tradition. Patrick really gets a kick out of helping me blow up balloons for Wyatt and Quintins birthdays. I must admit that the first year we did the balloons for Wyatt the drop cloth fell in the middle of the night and he woke up screaming....not the way I had imagined it. So now I just throw the balloons everywhere. Plus its much easier to run in to their bedroom throw balloons than to try and balance my self on a dresser to hang the drop cloth while they'll sleep....I'll try and post pictures of the birthday celebrations.
