When I thought of a meet and greet, all I could imagine was a sea of people being ushered quickly by the band. It was the complete opposite. The band made our visit personal by asking our names, some small talk, autographing items, and then taking a couple of pictures. It was awesome! I couldn't help but tell them how much my son Patrick loved their music...and me too of course! They are coming back to St. Louis in September and I cannot wait.
My mom and I with the band

Ameila and Em with the band

Rylie all by herself with the band!
After having my first concert experience, I realized a few things...
I cannot afford to drink beer at a concert venue - holy moly $9.75 a pop...no thanks, I don't like beer that much! I did however splurge for a frozen margarita which set me back...ahem... $14. To try and justify my purchase; I did get a cool guitar shaped cup.
Nothing will make you feel older than surrounding yourself with hundreds of young twenty something girls. I find that it is harder for me as I get older to know what is considered "cool". Being old(er) I had checked the weather before leaving; I wore jeans, cowgirl boots, and a light shirt. Then, when the sun went down, guess who was prepared for the cool breeze and lows in the 60's? Me... all the girls who barely wore clothes sat and shivered...but hey - at least they looked cute, right? Oh the mindset of being young. My mom and I did take mental notes of cutes styles and fashion trends.
Throughout the entire night I couldn't help but wish my boys were there with me. They would love it! We are always listening to country music and we watch CMT videos on Saturday mornings. Eric has "been there done that" when it comes to concerts, but he wouldn't mind going to the next one with me. His only draw back is he can no longer tolerate being surrounded by obnoxiously drunk youngins'...man we're old...
