I usually do my homework during my lunch hour, but today I feel like I need a break. I have been keeping myself so busy lately that I feel like all I do is sleep, work, school, sleep, work, school...dinners, time with my husband and kids seems so limited. When I'm not at school I'm studying, tutoring Patrick, playing with the kids or cleaning. I have however managed to watch a few OU football games with Eric.
During my drive to/from work I have "Oh I should blog about that" moments. Somehow when I actually go to write my post I have completely forgotten what it was. The same also happens to me when I go shopping. Instead of writing down what I need at the store (Like what a smart person would do) I try to rely on my memory. As I get out of the car I'm telling myself: "All I need is toilet paper, shampoo and diapers...TP, shampoo & diapers..TP, shampoo & Diapers..." low and behold I walk thru the double doors of Wal-Mart and "TP, Shampoo & Diapers turns to....Oh! look over there!! I see clearance items" and then I'm standing in the middle of Wal-mart with a cart full of things that I don't need and I have forgotten TP, shampoo and diapers..I think I may have some sort of A.D.D, but I do know that I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember Shit) and Somtimezer's...all things combined should be an indicator to myself that I should start making lists.
So what I've done is made a list of things "Oh I should blog about that."
My first one: Halloween 2009
I really like Halloween. Yes, I'm one of THOSE moms' that dresses up with her kids. I usually am on top things like getting our costumes ready and decorating the house. I failed to do both this year.
My ideal Halloween would consist of me and my family dressing up together as a theme. I still haven't been able to get all of my boys on board with the idea. I guess if I was a Power Ranger that may go over a little better. Last year we had: Snow White (me), Space Ghost (Eric), Starship Trooper (Patrick), Dash (Wyatt) and Tigger (Quin). I would have loved for the kids to have gone as my dwarfs and Eric as the Prince Charming, but it turns out dwarfs aren't cool - who knew?
This year I was so distracted that I almost forgot about Halloween...notice I didn't even post about it? The fact that I'm just now mentioning it and it's November may tell you something. This Year, the week of Halloween I completely forgot that Wyatt had his school party. Thursday morning consisted of me running around like a crazy lady looking for the Dash costume he wore last year - I quickly threw it in the bag and we were out the door. I sure hope it fit him...
On Halloween day everyone, except me, decided to take a nap. I was working on my research paper when I finally looked up at the clock and it was 5:30pm -CRAP! The sun was starting to set. I jumped in the shower and woke everyone up. We hadn't even figured out what costumes the kids were wearing. Patrick was the easiest - he wore his karate uniform. Wyatt had left the Dash costume from earlier in the week at my moms so he had the choice of being: A: The Red Power Ranger or B: The Blue Power Ranger?? I had borrowed a Tigger costume from my friend Dawn for Quin. It was a 3Toddler or 4Toddler size. It is worn like a sweatshirt with Tiggers' face on top of his head. He did not like it at all. He kept saying "I no like it! I no like it!!" We finally took it off and I was preparing to switch Wyatt from the Red Powers Ranger costume to the bigger Blue Power Ranger costume when Quintin told us that he wanted to be Tigger. So Eric & I tried to put the Tigger costume back on him..only to find out he wanted to be in the Tigger costume from LAST YEAR.
I will preface the fact that although Quintin is 2 years old and the youngest. He's just as big, if not bigger than Wyatt. They both could wear 3T clothes together except that since Wyatt is darn tall he has to wear 4T's. With that said; the Tigger costume he wore last year was a 24 Month size.
So what would any good parent do in a situation like this?? Try and reason with a 2 year old? No, we made that Darn Tigger costume from last year fit him. It took Eric & I both to zip it up. The legs of it came down just after his kneees. He totally had High Waters and a severe case of camel toe going on, but man was he was happy. I failed to take any pictures so I think I'll do a reenactment of Halloween - without the candy of course.
