Who doesn't love a long weekend? My work closed early on Friday and was closed on Monday for President's Day. I took full advantage to do absolutely NOTHING!! We usually do Movie night on Fridays, well we did a Movie Weekend. I endured testosterone driven movies all weekend with the boys. We watched G.I. Joe twice, Transformers (the second one) twice, G Force twice and I did manage to throw in a few girly movies during nap times.
However, the best movie that I was able to sneak in was The Little Mermaid. I say sneak in because I NEVER get to watch any Disney Princess Movies at my house. I gave the boys the options to pick 1) Beauty & the Beast: The scary monster movie that has talking furniture and the men shoot arrows and Guston has a big gun...you know fun boy stuff...oh yeah and there's this girl named Belle. OR 2) The Little Mermaid: this movie is about fish in the ocean and there's a BIG shark with ships and fun stuff....So I may or may not have described the movies to my advantage. By the way I don't allow Eric to vote.
Well, Beauty and the Beast didn't last long. I guess I describe The Little Mermaid more enticing or my children were thinking it was similar to Finding Nemo. To top it off, I may or may not have bribed my children with popcorn and milk shakes if we watched Little Mermaid.
I haven't actually watched The Little Mermaid in about 6 years, but don't worry folks I still remembered all the words and lyrics. Patrick kept asking "Mom how do you know all the words?" Quintin and Wyatt kept telling me to "Sh!!SH!!Mommy stop talking/singing!"
And I wonder why I don't get to watch my Disney princess movies....
