Holy Cow!!

I figured that title was appropriate...it's been way too long since I've had the chance to post anything. Lately I've been keeping myself busy, so busy that I've found myself forgetting to eat. That's just wrong...

I don't want to waste too much time and energy on the next topic, but I have to dish. For being a mom of boys I don't have to deal with drama that often, but I have recently had my share. Long story short, my parents have moved onto a street with neighbors that may or may not have nothing better to do than stare out their windows. Over the last couple of weeks my mom and I have had to deal with DFS, Animal Control and County Police. Turns out that someone has been keeping a tally on what my children do and wear. Get this...my children go outside...wait for it............. without shoes on - GASP!! AND they play in the front yard! Oh my goodness, what is the world coming to? Children outside playing? That's a reason to call DFS on a person. There were other items listed on the report, but I won't give any satisfaction of repeating the lies. That's what they are.

A few questions that came to my mind when all of the occurred was:

What is wrong with people? Whatever happened to having conversations with
their neighbors? (You know when one human being opens their mouth and speaks
words that consist of sentences to one another). If there's a problem or any issues; here's an idea - come on over, sit down, let's have a coke or some tea and talk about it like grown ups.

I have done some checking around. I happen to be related to a few local police officers. It turns out that children playing in their own yard without shoes on is NOT against the law. What IS against the law if filing false reports to local authorities...

I'm not bitter, really, I pray that these people find happiness in their lives.

To look at this situation in a positive way: I guess you could say that I'm thankful there are people stalking...ahem...I mean...I'm thankful that there are people watching out for my kids. Maybe I should send them "thank you for being nosey card"...nah...that might be too much....
