Life is crazy

I cannot believe that Christmas is approaching so quickly. This is the first time in seven years that on December 2 I have absolutely NOTHING bought, wrapped or ready for Christmas.

"Sticth" also known as Quin for the month of October is doing great. Stitches are out and he still has his thumb nail. YAY!

The Halloween party at Patrick's school..well I'll say these few things.
  • I was the only person over the age of 11 that was wearing a costume...I felt like such a huge dork, but one of Patrick's friends made my afternoon. I over heard him saying "Patrick your mom is soo cool. She's Superwoman!" No really I was. That was my costume.

  • The party I planned in my head did not turn out the way I had hoped. It was more like complete and total chaos with toilet paper flying everywhere. I'm pretty sure the kids enjoyed the party, but from an overzealous control freak stand point I had to sit back and roll with the punches. **Note to anyone out there, the Mummy Wrap game was like herding a group of cats. It did not work so well, but the story My Lamented Friend was awesome!

  • Just to gripe for a moment; I have a contact list from open house, of which parents wrote out their information. This information was whether or not they would be able to come to the party AND/OR bring supplies. I just love how I had only 4 parents willing to help, but approximately 15 were at the party.

The Christmas party is a little over two weeks and I'm opting for doing a craft.

A little over a week after Quintin was in the ER, I was in the same ER. I was driving Eric's Civic. I was rear ended while sitting in traffic on the highway. The car was totalled. We are now the proud owners of a new Nissan Juke. It is Eric's baby. I still drive the minivan for now.

I have been doing my field experience at one of the local elementary schools. I absolutely LOVE IT! I get to spend one day a week with two 3rd grade classrooms. I get the opportunity to work with the kids individually, in small group time, and I help teachers out with grading papers. I also teach a lesson on every one of my visits.

I must say that before I was taking my education classes I didn't realize all of the work that is involved with teaching just one lesson. Next week is my last week with my 3rd graders and I'm trying to think of a neat way that I can incorporate some sort of "thank you" gifts as a token of my appreciation for them welcoming me to their classroom. Let me know if you have any ideas.
