Artwork....

There seems to be another artist in my family.....WYATT.

With Patrick we've always had issues with him and scissors. He has the need to cut everything. It started with inexpensive items such Newspapers, coloring books and my gossip magazines. His obsession progressively moved towards other more expensive items such as our Leather couch, the Lazy Boy Recliner (Eric's Throne - trust me that was not a good day in our house), my moms couch, my special order blinds for the Living Room and most recently two pairs of his shoes. Turns out he likes the sound of his shoes flopping around. Who cares, right?? They're all just "things" that eventually will be replaced.

I've learned that if there is ever silence in my house --- it's a good sign that someone is doing something naughty.

It appears that Wyatt's artistic abilities have emerged. Thankfully it has nothing to do with scissors. The boy loves to color which is great. I love to color too! I'll be the first one to break out the coloring books. Wyatt has his own idea of coloring....Below are some of the artwork he's done. FYI - most of the pictures were drawn at Nana's house.....sorry mom...

(Notice the pictures??? That was Patrick's soccer team picture and the other was on the back of a cereal box...Patrick cut them out all by himself!!)

Some of the pictures were drawn with crayons and others with Markers. He's even improvised with other items like Great Grandmas powder fresh deoderant...sorry Great Grandma!! I owe you a new one. I'll have to get a picture of that one.

It's really hard to punish him, he's always so proud of his work. Fortunately for my mom, I have invested in Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and we'll be over to her house this weekend to clean up his ummm..."artwork". Magic Erasers are exactly that - MAGIC! I highly recommend them to any household that has children. They clean up everything from boogers to poop! Ahhh, life is exciting!

I can't wait to find out what Quintin's artistic ability is going to be!

  1. Katie- I am so glad my children are not the only (creative) ones. Although I try to tame the creativity to paper. TRY was the operative word...

  2. Finally, Katie's blog! Thanks for the warning - we will have to keep an eye on Wyatt's wandering crayons in Sunday school!
