I'd say that I had a calm and uneventful weekend, but seriously..in my life...there is no such thing.
Friday started out great. I love Fridays! It is usually always a good day for me. It's the day that I try to get most of the paperwork off of my desk. I like to feel as if I had a productive week and that I had accomplished something besides just moving stacks of paperwork from one side of my desk to the other. 4:30pm hit and I was out the door. I had plans to eat dinner with my mom, grandma, sister and the kiddos. (Eric was trying to be productive and get his tax paperwork with the state in order for his Federal Firearms License. I'm sure he had a delicious bowl of cereal..hehehehe. I know I'm evil!) So anyway I proceeded to get in the car and the darn thing wouldn't start!! Here I was trying to get away from work and I had to go back in - ugh!! I found two people to help me. Linda had the jumper cables & Henry had the reliable battery. As they were pulling up to give the car a jump, you'll never guess what happened - the stupid car started right up. Just like when you go to the doctor..."I swear I had a 102.3 degree temperature and sore throat!" I looked like such a faker. I tore outta there so fast! I may or may not have ran a stop sign in fear of the car dying.
Saturday was a fun day. It was a day full of parties. I must say, my friend Tracy is so creative not to mention organized. She throws the best birthday parties for her kids. I wonder if she'll do my kids' birthday party..?? Anyway, the kids got to beat on a fire truck pinata. We ate a fire truck birthday cake. The circus and I almost left her house undamaged....until...I did a head count and realized that I was missing a wee one...Wyatt...I went upstairs to retrieve him. Thank goodness he wasn't drawing on her walls! As I was coming down the stairs I see Quintin walking towards me...I was thinking to myself.."Didn't I leave him at the table eating a cupcake???" I sure did. In my mind it was like slow motion; with Wyatt over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes I began screaming "nnNNNNNN oooOOOOoo!!!!" I watched as Quintin tripped over his own two feet, his hands out in front to catch himself, and BAM! RED ICING ALL OVER TRACY'S pretty tan carpet. Fast forward, me apologizing profusely, feeling like crap and my mom helping to get the steam cleaner out...again Tracy (my #1 follower) I'm so sorry. I'm adding to my list of things I owe people...carpet cleaner is right after great grandmas deodorant. We ended the party on a high note going on a tour to the O'Fallon Fire Station. I would have never thought of something so fun - Kudos to Tracy for throwing an awesome birthday party!
Eric and I actually went out on a "date" Saturday night. First time in a long time. My mom got the kids...and the dog. We went to a graduation celebration where I got to have conversations with other adults, I danced like the white girl that I am, drank lots of rum/coke and I even got to sleep in Sunday morning til 6am...that's right folks that's an hour longer than usual. I got up and was able to drink my coffee in a relaxed environment. I got ready for church and was out the door to pick up the kids from Nana's house. I called to give my mom my ETA. She said that Wyatt & Quintin had been up for quite some time and she had them dressed and all ready to go...must have been a good night.
I did something that I don't normally do... I went to church by myself with all three of the boys and no other adult reinforcement. I think this rare occasion has only happened one other time. I think my mom felt bad that she wasn't going (Robbie had some seizures during the night) so she bribed Hope to go with me and help. It turned out to be what I called a good day at church. I didn't have to chase any of the kids off of the alter or retrieve them while they try to army crawl under the pews. I don't understand...Church isn't a new thing - we go every Sunday and the rules don't change. I sometimes wonder what the people behind us think.
Sorry this seems sooo long, but I'm on a roll...deal with it..
Last event of the weekend was something that I was looking forward to, eating Indian food. Background of the event: Eric has a longtime friend, Ashish, that got married to a really nice lady from India. Her name is Hetal. She was meeting the Manlove family for the first time. Not just my little Manloves' but ALL the Manloves....she had no idea...poor Hetal. I pray that we didn't scare her off. Eric & I made sure that we brought a gift. Most people would bring a house warming or welcome to family gift, which we did, but I added on Sorry if my kids break any of your crap gift. It was a fun day, nice to see that Kurt Warner will be leading the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl. The food was incredible. Eric an I were sitting at the table savoring our food, not paying any attention to where the kids were. Man we're stupid - scratch that - man we were naive to think that they were playing and behaving. I almost got to enjoy my dinner. Next thing I know Wyatt comes up the stairs with a blue plastic cup, no biggie, I graciously thanked him for bringing it to me. God only knows that child should not have a cup without a lid on it!! To my surprise he brought me a present...brace your self folks...my son dropped trau in the basement and pooped in the cup!!! Excuse my language..I shit you not, I have no reason to lie. I would have taken a picture as proof, but I left my camera in the van. Just kidding!! It was definitely NOT a Kodak moment. Maybe the look of Horror on my face, but take my word for it...HE POOPED IN A FLIPP'N CUP. Why me??? Man, was I THAT bad as a child that this is how I am being repaid?? Where do kids learn this crap???? I'll tell you what, it was NOT in the "Everybody Poops" book or on the Potty Time DVD....and NO I didn't teach him either. I was completely mortified!!
Again, he was so proud of himself. I took him straight to the bathroom and went over where people are supposed to poop. Eric & I try to look on the bright side of our unique situations. Top three reason why we should look on the bright side of this one:
#3.) He did get it all IN the cup, that's good right??
#2.) He didn't paint Ashish's walls with it (been there done that - at home thank goodness)
and #1) He didn't poop his pants - yeah!!!
But seriously, is there really a bright side to this?? Holy crap...all I can say is...I'm screwed.....
Katie- The red came out just fine- What was I thinking a RED fire truck? With all of those kids it should have been white! Again, no big deal- we all have 'those' moments. It adds to the story for our scrapbooks...
