Crazy

I work in an Insurance Agency...I know, I know settle down people...it's very exciting. I'm a paper pushn' fool. I have my own "Career Center". Normal people may call this a Cubicle, but to make myself feel important I sometime reference it as a "Career Center".

I don't know if it's the business of insurance or working in an office environment, but I find that I talk to myself...a lot. We joke around a call each other crazy....maybe they aren't joking..?

I listen to the radio to drown out myself talking. Unfortunately it turns into me singing. I don't know which is worse. It seems odd to work in a quiet office. When I worked at an agency in Texas I sat in what we called "the pit". There wasn't anything quiet about it.

Have you ever been in a bathroom and you hear someone in the next stall say "Hi! How are you doing?" and you begin to respond only to find out that they are talking on their cell phone. Seriously? People can tell by the strange echo that you're in the bathroom. I can remember myself being in this situation twice. What can I say? I don't always learn from my mistakes.

I talk to myself often enough that people have been afraid to interrupt me because they think I'm on the phone. That's sad, but you know what is more sad...I found that yesterday not only was I talking to myself, but I was using an east cost New York accent and then later in the day an English accent.

My only reasoning for this is that I've been watching TLC lately because I have a new favorite show, Cake Boss. Oh my gosh!! For any fellow bakers out there, you have to watch this show. Buddy makes the most awesome cakes and Italian Pastries. It's also quite entertaining since he works with the rest of his Italian Family. I've gotten my kids hooked on it. Still working on the hubby...it takes time...

  1. As working in the same office I can totally commiserate. :) It is quiet, and I also talk to myself...but then I kind of always have talked to myself. First time I went grocery shopping by myself I just kept talking to myself wondering where to find some stuff and saying, "I feel like an idiot." I got quite a few weird stares. :) Crazy not necessarily a bad thing...makes life a little bit more interesting. :)
