Grades are in...

Well, I couldn't wait any longer and I decided to email my English instructor to see if my grade was ready. I am happy to report that I have successfully completed my first semester back to school with 2 A's and 2 B's. Yay!! GO MEE!

Old Testament Studies - A
College Math - B
English Comp II - B
Sociology - A

I did want to say thank you to everyone out there that helped me by taking my Sociology quiz a few weeks back. For those of you who helped me with my Sociology project my results were not too surprising, but kind of sad.

I had so much fun with my project. I had to choose a topic that peaked my interest. I chose politics and current events. My point of the project was to see if young Americans were engaging in politics. I asked a series of question that were pertaining to news, politics, history and pop culture. I first started with a series of Civics questions, it turned out too be way to hard, except for my dad who aced it. After a few changes it ended up with the following questions:

1. Name the Speaker of the House. Answer: Nancy Pelosi

2. Name the host of the TV show "Survivor" Answer: Jeff Probst

3. Name a prime time evening news anchor from ABC, CBS or NBC. Answer: I was looking for ABC: Katie Couric, CBS: Charles Gibson or NBC: Brian Williams.

4. Who is Jennifer Lopez married to? Answer: Marc Anthony

5. Name a current U.S. Senator Answer: Claire McCaskill or Christopher "Kit" Bond

6. Name the lead singer(s) of "Black-Eyed Peas" Answer: Fergie or Will-I-am

7. Who won the Superbowl in February 2009? Answer: Pittsburgh Steelers

8. Name the current Missouri Governor. Answer: Jay Nixon

9. Who is Sean Hannity? Answer: Radio talk show/TV show host on Fox

10. Name the judges from the TV show "American Idol" Answer: Randy, Simon, Kara, Ellen and previously Paula

11. Who was James Buchanan? Answer: The 15th President of the United States

12. Who is the Missouri Secretary of State? I had also amended this question to Secretary of State? Answer: Missouri Secretary of State - Robin Carnahan the answer to the amendment was Hillary Clinton

13. Identify the person who ran up on stage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award at the VMA's? Answer: Kanye West

14. What are the 3 branches of government? Answer: Judicial, Legislative and Executive

15. This question started out as: Can you name all of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolee children? Then it was changed to: How many children do Brad & Angelina have? Answer: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Viviene

The question that most often answered correctly was #10, 78% of the people who took my survey could identify the American Idol judges. The least known question was #2, sorry survivor fans. I am proud to say that more people knew who the Speaker of the House was than who Jennifer Lopez is married to.
