However, I do have a new financial motto that I'm trying to abide by. All thanks to David Ramsey it is: "Act you wage." Since the construction business is booming - not! Eric is laid off for the time being, and we aren't spending any money....well truth be told we don't have any money to spend. Dave Ramsey posted a really good article about his "Thoughts on Holiday Shopping" it described me all to well. Food for thought if you're interested.
Here's a quick video of my big helper, Quintin.

The boys helped decorate and as you may be able to tell...Eric watched football.

Tank even got his own stocking out - what a good boy!
As easy as it is to put up the fake Christmas tree, I really miss venturing out to a tree farm and cutting down our own tree. Growing up, I don't remember ever having a fake tree. My sister, brothers and I would fight, argue, pout and ultimately decide on the perfect tree to cut down. Then, we would take turns sawing away at the tree anxiously awaiting to see who it would fall on. Most years, it was my older brother Billy that it fell on. (I personally think Emelie rigged it that way.) Ahh, those were some good times, and good videos! Believe it or not, but it really brought out the loving Christmas spirit in us. I'm hoping that maybe next year we'll be able to take the boys out to a tree farm and experience those same adventures.
