Who doesn't like a good flashback right???
Back in January I received a phone call from the photography studio that took our wedding pictures. They were getting rid of negatives that they had in storage. After procrastinating 5 1/2 months I finally had the negatives put on a disc.
Granted I have the huge the Wedding Album at home which the kids and I look through quite often, but seeing pictures that didn't make "the cut" for the album brought back a whole bunch of memories. As I have gotten older I have a new appreciation of the pictures. When I first viewed these pictures I only wanted the pictures in my album that had people looking at the camera with their best smiles..etc. now I look at the pictures and look a the people who weren't looking directly at the camera as well as the people in the background. Some of them I thought what are they doing?? Look at what some people were wearing??...or you see a cute shot like my brother Bill standing behind his wife Lisa with his arms wrapped around her...awweee...
Fun Facts I Remember from my wedding day:
- The Limo company cancelled on us a few days before the wedding. Prom Season....nice?
- My mom made all of the bridesmaid dresses & flower girl dresses
- My mom couldn't get all of the bridal party figurines to stay on the staircase on the cake so she and my aunts all stepped up and chewed and stuck a piece of gum for each figurine. You can kinda see it in the pictures.
- My mom and aunts also had to buy a blue marker and color all of the figureines dresses.
- 1999 was an expensive year for my parents. My sister got married 4 months and 4 days after me and my brother got married 4 months and 4 days after her.
- I was 17 yrs. old when I got engaged and 19 yrs. old when I got married. In High School everyone was planning their Graduation parties saying "Dude, where going to have a keg at our party" and I was planning a wedding you could hear me saying "We'll be serving chicken and beef and we'll have an open bar till 11pm"
Man what 10 years can do to a person!! My little BIG brother, Jamie, was not that big at my wedding. In our family picture he's standing next to Emelie and he's barley taller than her 5"8 frame. He's now 6"4. My Ring Bears' well...they'll be driving in less than 3 months - yikes!
10 years and 3 kids...there is no way in hell that I'd be able to get back in that wedding dress. Eric on the other hand, put his dress blues on almost a year and a half ago for a Veteran's Day Ceremony for Patrick's school. Guess what? They were too big on him. I would of thought he'd gain some sympathy weight or something...I guess drinking only Mt. Dew and Sweet Tea really helps..
My mom happened to hear this and her response "Geeze Eric!! That's amazing!! Katie do you think you could fit into your wedding dress?" She asked that on purpose because she already knew that answer. She's such a smartass..and she wonders where I get it?
