I recently found a website: http://www.freetreesandplants.com You can reserve Free plants and trees and you pay for shipping which is $7.95. I especially love that the fact the women who runs this project, Cheryl Richter, has people with disabilities in sheltered workshops package the trees and plants. Having a little brother with disabilities makes the purchase of trees and plants that much more meaningful to me.
I ordered a whole bunch of trees. I think I ended up with 16 trees and 3 or 4 flowers. Yes, I know that's a whole lotta trees, but did I forget to mention that our 3 acres is totally bare. Although I was thinking that it would be 2 to 4 weeks before I received the plants, they came much quicker. They came in great shape.

Here I am getting ready to plant my first tree. You may be able to notice in the background...it's all grass which makes it very windy at our house.

Patrick and I planted all of the trees ourselves. This is one of the Ginkgo trees.
A few weeks ago on our drive home Eric & I happen to see a sign off the highway that said "Purple Hibiscus Tree for $5". We had seen these signs the year before, but we were too late and the lady didn't have any left. So as soon as we saw the signs this year we made sure to pull off and buy some trees.

Eric, Quintin and I planted these trees. Wyatt was sleeping and Patrick stayed at Nana's house to swim...which after planting 10 of the Hibiscus trees we decided that we should invest in a pool.

I think Quintin was asking Eric "What ARE you doing?"

I don't remember if Quintin is attempting to help or put the dirt back in the hole.

And of course Tank is everywhere I am....what can I say...he Loves me the most!

Here's a picture of the hibiscus tree planted...now I just need everything to grow!!
