Home Made Christmas Continued

I first would like to apologize for the delay in posting my Christmas pictures, but I have a problem with blogging out of chronological order. Well, we had our home made Christmas gift exchange. I did manage to take some pictures of Rylie and Amelia's gifts before we took them to my moms'.

This was Rylie's gift. My experience with Wyatt & Quintin painting the crate white, I chose to do the paint stamping myself. I figured she'd want to be able to read it and all. Wyatt did tell me what to put where.

This was a saying that I had heard from Homeward Bound. For some reason I could never get it out of my head.. maybe because it's true.

Wyatt & I tried to Bedazzle the crate up, but you'll see that Patrick didn't leave us many jewels to do any Bedazzling.

Below is the gift that Patrick designed for Mimi. I must say, I can't take any credit with this one. He was so excited that we found jewels to put on her jewelery box he may or may not of OVER Bedazzled it. I'll let you be the judge.

Patrick decided that he wanted to give Mimi another box. This one went a little better with the bedazzling.

GIFT EXCHANGE TIME!!

The "home-made" Christmas Tree: from the top: Rose, Hope, Rylie, Patrick, Mimi and Wyatt.

Mimi opened Patrick's gifts first. I think she was a little taken back by all of the bedazzlement, but I think we were safe to say that she liked her gifts.

Wyatt got the honors of carrying Rylie's gift to her.

Emelie made Quintin a blanket with a huge tractor.

My mom made all of us Pajama pants. Each family had their theme. I'll give you a moment to think about what our pj's could have been....Oklahoma Sooners - Baby! Eric was so excited. We actually thought about getting our family picture taken in them for our Christmas card. It's kind of late for that, but there's always next year!

Mimi, Em & Rylie in their matching Pj's you can't really tell from the picture, but they got a snowflake print.

Someone..not saying who, but it rhymes with mom....decided lets get all of the kids hopped up on sugar and soda and then try and take a picture of all the grand kids with great-grandma. Here's the attempt(s) of those lovely pictures.

1, 2, 3, 4....where's Wyatt...oh I see him..Eric is wrestling with him to stay in the frame of the picture. Where's Hope??

And...there goes Quintin...

It wasn't a success, but we tried. Maybe now people can understand why I haven't been able to take the kids to get a picture taken in almost a year.

Like most holidays with my folks; we celebrate beforehand. This way there is no running around town and eating two dinners and what not. This night that my mom had chosen just so happened to be the night before Christmas Eve AND poker night for Jamie. Gasp!! I know!! How dare she schedule a family get-together on POKER NIGHT!?! A normal person would say "Hey guys, sorry but I can't make poker this week. I'm celebrating Christmas with my family." My LBO (little big brother) decided..."Hey guys, why don't you all come over to my mom's house for Poker!?! I just have to pop my head in for a silly little Christmas thing..."

Here's the snapshot of Jamie...then back down to the bar and poker table. Glad to know he has his priorities straight.

The worst part of the night was when at the end we noticed that Hope hadn't opened a gift yet. I looked at my mom assuming that she had Hope this year. I was telling Hope - "You can totally play this one! I'm sure you could get a pony out of it or something. I can't believe Nana forgot about you." Emelie & my mom were trying to tell me that I had her name. I kept saying "No, no - I didn't!" Then I began counting off...
1. Em
2. Rylie
3. Amelia
4. Zach
5. um......ummm
Emelie had to pull up the email from August to prove me wrong. I had Hope this year! How in the world did I forget to make something for Hope? I can now call myself the world's WORST aunt!! I looked at Hope and said...."Soo....what kind of horse do you want?" I felt so horrible.
